Day 2: I think we missed the fireworks...

Exhausted from our first day of gallivanting in the center of HK, last night we were asleep around 7:30pm... Thanks to YouTube we were able to see some great fireworks for breakfast :-)
Ready to go early this morning we headed to Lantau Island to discover the Tian Tan Buddha and the local area. The trip started with a taxi ride to Kowloon Train station. Best train we have ever seen and all so clean! The people are the most polite people we have ever met, almost 7 millions of them living in total respect of each other. And I don't think it was just a set of NY good resolutions!
Once at Tung Chung we joined a very small queue of people to board the cable cars. We took the "Crystal" option to see through the bottom of the car: awesome!
Once we arrived at the top we wandered through the little village to reach the Tian Tan Buddha and climbed the 260 steps to the top. It is 31 m high and offers a great view of Lantau.
We then took a taxi to Tai O fishing village, where another smelly market of dried fish awaited us. I have discovered that I have a very sensitive stomach....
It was then time to head back to the concrete jungle of Kowloon and HK. We decided to kick off our boots and chilled by the pool of the hotel. Great way to start the new year.
I promise that we will stay awake tonight  and will go to the Avenue of Stars to watch the 20 mins light show. We kiss you all! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
